Description
Triticum black wisp, or Triticum dicoccum, as its Latin scientific name, is a species of triticum or wheat plant. This variety is mainly grown in Turkey, Syria and Ethiopia, but our stock is sown, grown, harvested and dried in the Netherlands. Also known as Emmer wheat, the black-stranded version has large spikes that are naturally tinted black, making the stems beautifully contrasting, the white spikes with the black strands. It also forms a beautiful combination with, for example, Helichryse or Bidens/Carthamus (seafflower). There are so many possibilities of drawings and contrasts of colors and shapes with these natural stems.
